Frequently Asked Questions
Find clarity on our therapeutic process, session details, and how we can best support your journey to wellness.
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that provides a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships, and patterns of behaviour. Working with a trained therapist, psychotherapy can help you develop greater insight, navigate challenges, build new ways of coping, and create meaningful change in your life.
Do you offer online psychotherapy sessions?
Yes, we provide secure and confidential online therapy sessions for residents of Ontario and Alberta, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home. Research literature consistently indicates that online psychotherapy demonstrates a level of effectiveness similar to in-person therapy in most cases.
What insurance coverage is accepted?
We accept nearly all major insurance plans. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm that psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker are covered under your specific plan. Anthony also direct bills with Blue Cross Alberta.
What should I expect in the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know one another. You’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’d like to work on, and any experiences or concerns that feel important to share.
Is there an intake form I need to complete?
Yes, new patients are asked to complete a New Patient Form before their first appointment. You will receive a copy securely emailed to you after booking your first appointment.
